I'm Katie Papac — a diver, a repair tech, and the hands (and heart) behind every suit that comes through my shop. This isn't just a business. It's personal.
I'm a diver first. Before I ever picked up a repair tool, I was underwater — exploring kelp forests off the California coast, logging cold-water dives, and falling in love with everything about the deep. Diving isn't just a hobby for me. It's the thing that makes me feel most alive.
But here's what I kept running into: when my drysuit needed work, I couldn't find anyone I truly trusted. Turnaround times were unpredictable. Communication was vague. And I never felt confident the repair would actually hold. I knew other divers felt the same way — that frustration of being stuck on the surface, waiting.
So I decided to become the repair tech I wished I had. I dove deep into the craft, trained hands-on with every major brand, and launched The Drysuit Lady.
"I treat every suit like it's my own — because I know the feeling of trusting your life to a seal someone else installed."
Today, divers across the country ship their suits to me. Whether it's a DUI, SANTI, Waterproof, Bare, or any other brand — I diagnose, repair, pressure-test, and ship it back with a 90-day dry warranty. Every single repair is done by hand, no shortcuts, no excuses.
Every repair comes with a promise: honesty, precision, and the kind of care I'd want for my own gear.
I know what it's like to be grounded waiting for a repair. That's why I offer rush turnaround options and keep you updated at every stage — because your next dive shouldn't have to wait.
Every suit gets a full diagnostic before I touch a tool. Every seal is hand-installed. Every repair is pressure-tested to failure — so you don't have to worry about it underwater.
No mystery invoices, no vague timelines. I'll tell you exactly what's wrong, what it costs, and when you'll get it back. If a repair isn't worth doing, I'll be the first to say so.
From first dive to full-time repair tech — here's how The Drysuit Lady came to be.
Started recreational diving off the California coast. What began as curiosity quickly became a way of life — cold water, kelp forests, and the rush of exploring what most people never see.
Transitioned from wetsuits to drysuits for year-round California diving. Learned firsthand how critical proper seal and zipper maintenance is — and how hard it was to find reliable repair services.
Trained in drysuit repair and restoration across all major brands. Started taking on repairs for fellow divers, dive shops, and instructors — word spread fast.
Launched the business from southern California. Now serving divers nationwide with precision repairs, certified pre-owned suits, and a 90-day dry warranty on every job.
Don't take my word for it — here's what the diving community has to say.
"Katie replaced the seals on my SANTI and it came back better than when I bought it. Fast turnaround and great communication throughout."
"I was about to retire my DUI suit until The Drysuit Lady got her hands on it. New zipper, new seals, good as new. Incredible work."
"Honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about getting it right. I've sent three suits her way and I won't trust anyone else."
